and pictures of "female #2" will be comming soon. all the pictures turned out a little over exposed, which is lame, and alot harder to fix then pictures that are under exposed... but.. im still learning.

all of mine are pure island Es, i plan to breed them this comming april, that male and female talk to eachother every night, he barks, and she squeeks, and they sit on either side of the glass, and it goes ON AND ON for like.. at least a half hour. its really cute, they totally want to hump.

Impressive Island E specimens! Be sure to let me know if/when you have some hatchlings. Good luck with them. Maybe we can trade some chahoua for leachianus this summer.

Tamara,
Nice leachies! Do they get handled often?

I just got a baby Leachie from a local breeder a couple days ago. This baby is very skittish and boy he jumped a great distance!
I'm just wondering does leachies got much calmer when they're adults?

meh? not really. i handle mine... only when i need to force feed pinks or take pictures, so rarely, and.. tho they dont come out and attack me, which is common with them, they dont neccisarily like to be handled, and im sure that they will always try and jump away. what local is your leachie?

The breeder said they're Island E. He's not so sure about the male though. He said it might be Island D...
Personally, I don't know what's the difference, they look simillar... The female was darker.
I hold the adult Male leachie at the breeder's house. That male is very calm. It was so cool, I've never hold a leachie before... They're so beefy.. :p

The breeder told me that one of the eggs was smaller than the other.
When they hatched, the smaller one didn't eat as great as the bigger one.
So he handfed the smaller baby since it was hatched, and that baby become very calm. Just climbing on people's fingers...
But, I got the bigger one... and he's so jumpy

i would be wary of someone who didnt specificly know the local. because that points to it being a mutt. someone who just gets two random leachies together and breeds them, regaurdless of local, usually because they cant afford pure animals. and people can do what they want, as long as they dont misrepresent it. which is exactly what "probably, might, and maybe" mean. if he bred them, then he knows what the adults are. [unless he doesnt, also not a good sign] and lets say he has a pair of island e, and a pair of island d [which i belive are now extinct] and he throws all of his leachie eggs together to be incubated, and he doesnt keep records of what is from who, and when everything was done, i would also be wary of that.

thats just my 0.02$. congrats on getting a leachie tho, theyre very cool animals.
