i've had my neo monilis for about a month and have them housed together. they both have grown alot, but one has grown at least 10% more than the other and i just noticed that he has also changed coloration considerably. he is a alot lighter than he was. is this part of his maturing? could it start so soon? i'll try and get a pic tonite and post it.

how old were they when you got them? or do you mean you hatched them yourself or got them as neonates?

sorry, got them as neo's, but pretty young. about a month or less. the smaller probably only weighs about 4g at the moment (total guess).

The colour differences may be more a result of where they spend their time. I would not be expecting a vast shift to adult colouration just yet but if a dominant animal spends its time in a site different to a subordinate animal it is not unusual for them to be differnet colours. Time of day will also influence this. If the difference in size exceeds 10% I would suggest raising them separately until they are at least 60% of adult SVL.

well, at such a young age, i would think it very unlikely that maturity is affecting their colouration. i would think what geckodan wrote is more accurate.
