hi all,
i am currently setting up a new enclosure for my phelsuma madagascariensis gradis male that i am to be getting, that perhaps he will be available for mating purposes for my female, and if they dont get on, they will be seperated, hes going into this new terrarium. now, i have been doing my homework, and i have been working on the cage for two days now, 4 hours a day. it is 40x40x60cm (bxwxh). however, i still have made very little progress, and have encountered two problems. the first of the problems is this:
I want ot cover all of the walls in cork-bark. however, i have been looking at it, and i was wondering if the geckos would get chlostrophobic (sp) in such a container. i would not like to have any of the walls open, so i cover them in cork, but does this mean that the male will feel like he is on the inside of a tree?
the second of the issues is thus:
i have a 10 cm thick, 40 cm long bamboo tube going straight across the cage in the middle, roughly 33 cms from the ground at its lowest point. how would you guys cut cork to fit around this bamboo tube? at the moment, i am just waiting for my siliconed ledges to dry, so i am taking a break and asking people
by the way, i will be posting a tutorial on how to make this terrarium, methinks, as soon as it is finished.
regards,
