I would like to know how others keep their amyae.

At what temps are you keeping them?

How often do you mist them?

Do you give your's a water bowl?

Do you give them a humid hide?

Any additional info explaining how you care for your's would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hard question considering the USA, Europe & Australia maybe keeping differently. I guess its what they are used to. Anyway this is my way:

I would like to know how others keep their amyae.

At what temps are you keeping them? 80F or 27C (all heating turned off all day & night)

How often do you mist them? Twice a week

Do you give your's a water bowl? Yep - I see them drinking from it readily.

Do you give them a humid hide? Nope - Just moist area in enclosure.

Any additional info explaining how you care for your's would be greatly appreciated. Ask Ken

Hi everyone! Here's what I do:

At what temps are you keeping them? About 87 hot side, 72 cold side

How often do you mist them? once a week

Do you give your's a water bowl? No.

Do you give them a humid hide? No, but my breeding pairs have a shallow tub of moist sand with a hiding place over it. The females readily use it for egg deposition.

Also I feed my mine B. dubia roaches, occasionally dusted with vitamin/calcium supplement (the roaches are also fed a high-quality diet), and once in a while pinkies.

At what temps are you keeping them?
Room temp, which is between 26-32C roughly. I do have a heat lamp, which I only use on very cold nights (not every night) for a few hours in the evening.

How often do you mist them?
when I feed him (very large crickets, dusted in calcium), so roughly 2 or 3 times a week currently. I will only be doing this once a week as the weather becomes cooller.

Do you give your's a water bowl?
Yes. Not sure if he uses it, but the option is there.

Do you give them a humid hide?
No. But definitely a hide is required for the day time.

Other:
The substate is "red desert sand" (although Im not entirely sure that it actually comes from the desert as such - more likely crushed red rock. And he LOVES to dig in it! I have also tried a section of the enclosure as moist vermiculite which he loved digging in and throwing all over the enclosure! I was a little worried about him eating it though, so removed it, much to his annoyance.)

cheers,

I would like to know how others keep their amyae.

At what temps are you keeping them?
about 28 C
How often do you mist them?
Never, not a lot of call for mist in a desert
Do you give your's a water bowl?
Yes, their only source of water
Do you give them a humid hide?
No, they rarely used it when I offered it but a dry hide is essential
