i finally got off my butt, partly being inspired by the world cup, to get back to playing some soccer. i called a buddy of mine and he said things were full, but come on up and maybe i could get in a game. i had to go out and buy some new soccer flats cause my other ones disappeared.
i showed up, got to see alot of people that i miss talking to and got drafted by the opposing team to be their sub. i finally stepped onto the field and when the whistle blew and the keeper passed it to the guy i was guarding, i challenged him..... and the next thing i know i heard a POP and CRUNCH and i was on the ground in agony.
i have never felt such pain and i broke my wrist twice. i started sweating, got tunnel vision and nauseous. i was scared to death it was my ACL.

at my appointment, the doc said he wasnt sure if was a broken tibia plateau(8-10 wks in a bracee) or the ACL (surgery, therapy, and a brace) or maybe both (8-10 wks THEN surgery, therapy and the kneebrace) so i have an MRI on monday. in the meantime, i am couch ridden with a hightech brace, swapping out ice packs and poppin oxy's.

hope to be back here soon.

Oh maaaaaaaaaaaan, that freakin' sucks. Neither diagnosis is fun. Here's hoping as short and easy recovery time as possible for ya.

well got my results from my MRI and i guess its good news. they found that i fractured the tibia plateau, but the only bit of good news was that it had not dispaced so no surgery is going to be necessary. i'll be in the same ankle to crotch brace for 8-10 weeks, but am going to start physical therapy on wednesday to get motion back in it.

Wow, I just saw this post. Scott, glad to hear that it is not the worst-case scenario. I can totally empathize. I've broken so many bones in my body, including my neck. You'll be back on your feet in no time.
