Hi folks,

I know you like this game ... !
And for me it's helpfull ...

I need your experienced view!? I guess it's what one doesn't wish ... a male ...! But as the mother looks nearly as well like a male wiht her big bulge (is this the right name?) I have still some hope.

At the time I took the Pic he or she was about 9 months old!

Sorry I couldn't get closer with the camera, I haven't a good hardware ... :?

You've got yourself a male there Peter.

If you take a look at your female, you'll notice that the bulge is more round shaped. Males tend to have more of a square shaped bulge.

Thanks, although it's not what I wanted to hear ... !

I think, next to the square-round difference by the bulge is that males have a kind of two parted one (logically for the hemipenes). But nevertheless I find it difficult to guess the sex in O. castelnaui ...

O. monilis is there much easier I think ...

Nobody think it could be a female gecko ... :? !?

Greats

Thanks you both!

Two opinions, so I guess I have to accept ... !

The worst thing is, that from 4 survived juvis of the O. castelnaui, this one is the only with no deformity ... !

Two of them have only 4 fingers at their legs in front and the other has all fingers but a 'frog eye' (I guess I have once to take a pic, it's quite strange like he or she looks like ...!)

And the only which is normal and straight is a male ... :(

I guess it's something genetically, because the the newest hatch has as well only 4 fingers ...

By the way, they are probably the clearest photos for sexing we have seen this year

Thanks! With my modest possibility it was the best possible (no Digcam)
