My coolest gecko

I don't have a favorite gecko.
But this one is definately my coolest gecko.
His name is Karl and he is blind. He turned blind on one eye in 2002 and on the other eye a year later. I did not believe then that he would survive a long time. But now he knows every corner in his terrarium and has no problem. He mostly eats babyfood but he eats the crickets i give him with the tweezers.

His crests are really special. They are so thin they nearly look like hair.
Isn't he cute?

I think thats cool cause not many animals live if they are blind. The fact that you have cared for his special needs makes you alright in my book as well.

it's really amazing how resilient crested geckos are. i had one deformed crested hatch out about a year ago...missing it's front leg, and the other was deformed. i didnt think it would do well, but it is very active and gets along just fine. he's got so much spunk, he'll probably stay with me forever!

WOW, im amazed that he can get around because they are such climbers, great job caring for him :) Miguel id love to see some pics of your three legged gecko also. Im always impressed by natures ability to compensate like that 8)

Thank you all for your nice words.
Well...I do not realy know what made him go blind.
He looked pretty weird some years ago. Because one eye was much bigger than the other eye.
I only have a picture of that in the small version on my homepage:

We went to the vet with him. He told us he does not know for sure, but he thought that karl might had some kind of worm in his eyes, that made him go blind.
