Possible Calcium Problem U. phantasticus

One of my females has a very large bump where her calc sac should be, the pic is a top down to show the size contrasts. The question is, too much calcium, or is it something else?

She seems a bit hindered in her front legs when walking. The bump is hard but she deosn't seem to recoil when it's touched.

It´s propably not a calc sac. At my animals I never saw somthing like this. It could be an infection..............

I don't believe the bump should be hard. Calcium sacs I have seen in U. phantasticus were "squishy". I can't really speculate what the problem might be though.

That definitely looks too large to be a calcium sac. Could it be some sort of tumor...can geckos even get tumors? Some of my female henks have gotten enormous calcium sacs but they have never looked like that.

I've begun to think tumor. The unfortunate thing is the only doctor in the area who knew Uroplatus has left the country for a better paying job. And I cringe to think of a doctor who doesn't know Uroplatus putting a scalpel anywhere near it's neck. If the gecko appears to be in pain or stops eating I think I just may put her out of her misery. I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks,

...yea, no offense but i beg to differ with your decision. just because a vet doesn't know uroplatus does not mean that they cannot identify an issue. I tend to be one of the more skeptical people when it comes to seeing vets but when its an issue of this potential magnitude, I find the best possible vet in my area for that particular field of interest and have them do they can to help. No animal is not worth that.

The last vet I saw in town who was supposedly one of the best, thought the tail of my phantasticus was a deformity and needed to be removed.....
