Yes, they can have solid black eyes when they hatch...but they use to get normal eyes after a while.
But you can never know...if you are lucky it maybe keeps them!

aww how precious, great job Oukan. What is that white stuff you have them on.

It is Perilite. Pretty much the same stuff that you find in potting soil. It holds moisture good. But doesn't have any chemicals in it.
