Mold grows for a couple weeks initially, then goes away. Springtails in the viv help eat the mold, and any fecal matter. The only tanks Ive ever had mold problems in were the ones I tried to keep too clean. Im a strong believer in bioactive substrates and decomposers. They do a better job then I ever could at keeping the viv clean, plus, they help the plants grow. And I like the plants :D
