Really nice setup and great rock imitation, Brandon!

But your cage looks too dry for me, remember O. castelnaui lives in the wet forest of Queensland. I would use this great cage set up for O. marmorata because it`s look more as their habitat :)

Best regards

Michael

yeah I know what you mean Michael I was actually going to use it for some Pachydactylus I just threw it together real quick. I don't really keep my castelnaui very wet just a good misting usually every night gets them the moisture they need. I'll most likely mix the sand with some peat moss. If it was a bigger cage I would add some plants.

Castelnaui also inhabit some of the driest, hottest crappiest rock habitat in Nth Qld. I would say what you have done is far better than most "tropical" enclosures I have seen for them. Rarely do I encounter Oedura in the wild in wet habitats. Even within rainforests, they often occur in dry rock crevices.

Hi Danny,

many thanks for that information!!!

It`s always a pleasure to read information like that from your Aussie experts.
I got most of my information about the genus from books or articles, but the best way to learn more about the geckos is seeing and oberserving them in the wild!

I hope sometime the dream comes true!

I keep mine on sand with a hide, thats it. I spray every other day. And they are happy and healthy as hell. My humidity though in my room is over all 47% though right now, guess some things are good about living in Florida
