I just got 5 cresteds from a friend that are all offspring of the same trio, one is a dalmation. 75% of the dalmations spots are red. Anyone else seen any like this, are the rarer or just different?

thanks

A few of my dalmations have champagne spots here and there, but definitly not 75%. That's pretty cool. You should post a pic if you can.

Yes

Iv been working on that project for 2 years now. I have got the spotting down to 2-3 black spots and 98% red spotting. Its not easy but its fun to try to get it to happen. hears a pick.

I'm another one working on a red-spotted project. My main male for this is Benjamin.

All his spots are red, 100% red spots on a red body. That big dark looking spot above his right eye is really dark red, not black, it just looks off colour in the picture. Since the pictures were taken, he's gotten more spots and some have grown, but he's not a 'super dalmatian', they're too small to be rated as super. About half his offspring have red spots, most of which have no dark spots at all. I've been working on this for 5 years, but until Ben hatched out, I hadn't had much luck. He's the first with only red ones, so he's been promoted to head honcho of the red measles project ;)

I've teamed him up with Lady in Red, hoping that she won't contribute any dark spotting or other patterns to the project.

So far, so good on the spot colours, but most of the offspring are fire or harlies, some tigers as well as dalmatians.

I would like to get a Red spotting Super Dalmatian. I would be something. well good luck on yur project. If your ever looking to let that one go keep me in minde.

Hilde -that one is excellent, mine is just a light brown with a lot of red spots. Just thought I would note that mine came from a dark fire/olive cross with none of the parents exibiting any spotting black or red. I have 4 other offspring from that trio one being about the same size as the one with red spotting. That one of similiar size however is a nice red, especailly when he is fired up but again no spotting. Just wondering if this is an occurance rather than something truely genetic.
