So since Home Depot has everything cheaper, whats the HD version of a UV-B light?

Do they even carry such a thing?

ive always wondered the same, but i think the reason that UV bulbs are so much more expensive is the simple fact that they have to do something extra to get the UVA UVB spectrum. what that something is, i dunno.

There are generic uv lights. Some really intense so hypothetically you get good exposure after a few hours.

However, I have not see nthose are hardware stores.

Home Depot, Lowes, and Wal-Mart all carry full spectrum bulbs. Ive been using them for a few years now with no problems at all. They are made by GE and called either Sunshine or Sunlight. They should say 5000K on them somewhere, which is close to natural sunlight.

I have bought these same GE Sunlight bulbs from Home Depot for Uroplatus and other cages. They worked great for growing plants and cost about $10.

Are you guys talking about the plant grow light bulbs?

Everyone up here say they don't have UVB, but I use them and they grow hatchlings up great!

The easiest way is to tell specifications of those tubes, do you use some UVb tubes for nocturnal geckos also, can those harm them anyhow?

What are you using for growing plants? Those commercial plant tubes or just some 5000K lights as someone mentioned?

Thanks in advance!

these bulbs are full spectrum grow bulbs, have no uvb, or uva. 5000k refers to the kelvin rating and has nothing to do with uv.
