opinions greatly appreciated

This seemed to be the best forum to post this.
I would like everyones opinion on the subject of sand. Play sand from Home depot or Calcium sand? I know impaction! But many people say that they use play sand and all is well. As long as I an supplementing calcium am I ok using play sand? :roll:

I wouldn't use calcium sand, I can't undestand why you would want to encourage your gecko to eat the substrate your paying for

I use kiln dried sand where appropriate, which is very fine, but I know many who use play sand with no problems, because a source of calcium is offered and the husbandry is right.

I personally prefer to avoid using sand for juve's or indeed loose substrate in general for juve's.
