Phelsuma leiogaster ssp "isakae"

What happened to the leiogaster species? Did they just disapear or what? I cant find any information on them. They were a species i always loved and was wondering if anyone kept them but now its like they dont exist.

yes they disappeared

they became Phelsuma modesta leigoaster, and Phelsuma modesta isakae

not completely, but this (isake) is truly one of the rarest phelsuma in captivity. i wish you luck on your searh, however.

i meant the what the species used to be disappeared, not the animals themselves

strange though, i saw quite a few in the wild (not sure if they were isakae or leigoaster), but they were prolific. Do you know the reason for their rarity in captivity?
