Missing baby gold dust....story inside

a while back i noticed two white spots on my girls belly. the other day i realized they were gone. this is my first phelsuma, ill note. on that same day i saw one egg inside a peice of bamboo, half open. the other egg was no where to be found. Jay suggested one was infertile and she ate it, while the other could have hatched. I CANNOT find it. I checked the plants hardcore with no luck. It could have gotten out but I have a very tight screen top. Jay Sommers told me that no matter how tight it is, it still could have squeezed out of some spot of it. If it's out, it's probably not going to live. It's cold outside, and I don't know where it would go. If it's in the tank I refuse to believe I wouldn't have seen it. I watch it all the time. I guess the big question is, could my big male have eaten it? Or maybe even the female? Any suggestions would be great.

if the egg did not hatch yet she could have buried it. i had that happen before. just slowly skim the top layer of substrate of the top and see. she did not put it very far down maybe a half inch or so.
