lost tail!

I am so puzzled! My beautiful (possibly female) dalmation gecko (who was gray but is possibly turning red, or reddish brownish green? recently) lost her tail yesterday. I came home -- and it was gone and no where to be seen! She has been jumpy and I was real careful with her the day before cause the tail looked weird to me, and I was thinking -- don't make her drop it! Do you think she got stressed and dropped it? I feel so guilty. It had a couple big dalmation spots on it, and I just hate it when geckos don't have a tail to help them climb. She seems OK without it, and has been acting OK. Any advice to make sure she gets a full life would be welcome, I feel so guilty. Beth

it's strange thah the tail was drop alone.
You housing this crested with other?

Anywhare the tail won't regenerate but the geko wil have a normal life.
use something to clean and cure the wound and control that nothing infect it.
Maybe is better, for the moment, if you house you gecko in a sterile fauna box

ps: excuse for my bad english and if i said something wrong correct me

Hi!
This gecko was with another one of the same age and size, but I probably should have kept her separate. They are in a 40 gallon and she seemed to stay in one bushy area while the other stayed hanging off another area. Do you think the other gecko may have harmed her or pulled it off, or stressed her? I must be the worst person who owns geckos. I feel so bad, she is so awesome. She is in a separate sterile container now. Thanks for your help

loosing tails is part of owning crested geckos. the other one may have caused it to fall off:). I"ve had a couple females loose their tails in their groups but they're not being picked on. it could have been a feeding response, the other one may have seen the tail moving and thought it was food, & if the tail is not in the cage then one of them had a big meal :)

I wouldnt put anything on it, just be sure the enclosure stays clean and you have nothing to worry about.

Thanks for your response. I feel bad, she is so sweet and lets me hold her. She is getting to be so pretty. She seems to climb OK without the tail, but still... Should I keep her separate from her sibling? They are both too young to tell sex, so I don't know for sure what they are. Thanks!

i keep separate every thing of gecko until they are sexually mature.
On my opinion is the best thing because you can control how much eat every gecko and there isn't the problem of competition.

Then when they are adults you can try to housing toghether
