Hi guys
We have 2 Phelsuma, and following on from debates here and elsewhere, they may be Kochis.
My female laid two perfectly formed eggs the other day. We were unprepared, she didn't appear gravid, but we should have known better, as one of my posts on here indicated she had been a little 'torn up' by the male a short while back.
Well, we immediately warmed up a moss filled take away plastic tub with airtight lid and popped them, same way up, each in drinks bottle lids wedged with kitchen paper to stay still. we popped them over a heat mat until we :
Got a poly box that day, and they are now still in the lids, with heat mat to roof, steady 28degrees, vermiculite now in box with them.
My first question: is it possible we killed the eggs by putting them on top of heat mat as temporary measure? If so, how and when will we know?
Second, as the poly box is dark and air tight, with no viewing screen, when should we first check them for hatching?
Third, what are the ideal conditions, should both hatch out fine, for them to be kept in for a short (couple months) period?
Thank you!
