"New" sakalava tank.

I had some free time this sunday (finally, after a lot of running around doing errands for the last few weekends.) So I decided to work a little on my gecko cages.

The sakalavas' cage in particular, needed a bit of work. They were in a 20 that I had originally not meant to use as their permanent home, since I had a nicer looking 30G tall(?) tank in storage. Unfortunately, a very busy work schedule kept me from digging it out and outfitting it properly.

But today I made a little time for it, and after a run to Wal-mart to pick up some sanseverias, some manual labor, the temporary eviction of my cat from the room and a little bit of gecko wrangling, this is the result:

I still plan on getting either a single, large piece (or several smaller ones, depends on what I find and at what prices,) of cork bark for the back wall. Not that I think the geckos seem to care particularly, (As long as they have decently sized hide spots,) but it would make the background a little more interesting, visually.

Thanks!

They seem to be adjusting well, and already are a lot less skittish. (Either that, or they are still figuring out where the best places to hide are.) But it seems that they think they have that "hide in plain sight" camouflage going for them in this tank, so even tough they have more hidey-holes to bolt to, they don't seem to want to run and scatter as much as before, in the smaller tank.

My only real issue with them at the moment is the fact that the female that seemed gravid earlier no longer shows any signs of eggs in her body. There were no signs of laid eggs anywhere in the older tank, and if I remember correctly, these guys do not bury their eggs.
Chances are these where just slugs, I suppose, but I'll look around in the substrate of the old tank a bit more just in case I did have eggs laid there.
