P. mariquensis mariquensis calls

I have a pair of mariquensis and the male makes his bark/call every night. Interestingly enough he does it within 15 minutes of the hour every hour after dark. I've heard this up to 4am! My question is will the female ever bark back? They have been breeding age since summer but I have had no successful mating. Does anything in particular with the environment stimulate breeding like season rain changes does with geckos from other climates?

to breed mariquensis or latirostris for that matter, you must cool the geckos. Im my experience you also need to keep the geckos separated for most of the year and introduce them only once they have been cooled, then fattened up for breeding. When i say cooled, i mean a good 6 weeks or so (8 is better) at around 65F. I still feed my geckos, and obviously mist them lightly, but only once a week. Once you do that they should breed with no problems. Im sure people have bred them keeping them together all year, and not cooling, but my explanation has worked every year for the past five years with latirostris and every year that i have attempted to bred the mariquensis
