I have a baby albino and ever since i got it, it hasn't eaten anything and it walks around with its eyes shut and the other baby leopard gecko who's a jungle morph seems to be fine and i just watched him shed. the albino, looks like it has access skin on its sides and it just looks really bad. all i have going on the tank is 2 75 watt night infa red bulbs day and i turn one off at night and in the day the temp. is only like 84 so i don't know what to do
Does your Albino have shed stuck on it's eyes?
You need to do a couple of things to get the stuck on shed off
One is to make a "Leo Sauna"out of a plastic container
Punch a few pin holes in the lid and put a couple of folded up paper towels that are moistened with warm water on the bottom of it
Put your Leo in it and put it on your uth or a heating pad on low
If you have to use a human heating pad-you should check how warm the heating pad gets before you place the container with the Leo in it
Also check the temop of a uth- both should be just warm to the touch
If you don't have a uth or a heating pad then try using about 1/2 inch of warm water (like the temp for a babies bath) in the container with no external heat on it as I am not sure how hot the container with the Leo would get with using an overhead bulb
Leave your Leo in the container for 5 minutes and watch it while it is in there
Then......
You can use a Q-tip moistened with warm water to gently work off the stuck on shed
Depending on how many layers that there are you may have to do this in several sessions and let your Leo rest in between so as not to stress her/him out too badly
Your temps on the hot end are definitely too cool and I would recommend that you get a uth that covers 1/4 of the bottom of the size tank that you have(place it underneath the tank) and a digital thermometer with a probe or a temp gun
Digital thermometers are around $10 to 15 buck and temp guns can now be bought for a low as $25
Both will give you an accurate reading of what your tank temps are
You need to have a moist hide in your Leos tank to aid them with their shedding
You can use the same type of plastic container and cut a hole in it for your Leo to get in and out
Smooth the edges of the hole so that they are not sharp with melting the edges slightly and let it cool
Then add some moistened paper towels and check on it every couple of days as it will need clean paper towels(they like to poop in them for some reason) and the paper towels will also dry out
One more thing-they need to be in separate tanks if they are now being kept in the same tank
Please ask if you have any more questions and you can PM me for any other help that I might be able to give you
I would be glad to help in any way that i can
Good Luck
