YO fellow Geckoheads!

Lets get down to details ...........
I used to have a cocofibermix lightly misted in the egglaing boxes so far with some succes. But now I´m trying humid plain sand exept for the Amyaes.

What do you use?

Allso, the entrence hole,,,,,,,from the side with my softskinns and wheeleris but from the top with the aymaes.....
What about your nephrurus, where do they enter the boxes?

I use a variation of different sized platic tubs with holes cut in the lid for my asper. I have placed them on top of shallow substrate and also partially buried them and they have been used both ways:

I am going to trial larger opaque containers next season with my amyae (too young to breed this year). I am changing to different tubs/rack so will need different laying boxes.

A chanched medium from cocofiber to humid sand yesterday and this morning I digged out 2 wheeleri eggs from the box, enternce hol on the side.
This convinced me for the moment.

Hi,
Congrats for the N.w.eggs.I also think sand is quite more suitable than cocofiber for egglaying substrat for Nephrurus.
I use hole entrance by side for all my N.levis complex and from the top for N.amyae. The reason of this is just because with N.amyae I have never had problem with a hole on top whereas with some females N.levis they did not enter the box through the top.
I also think a hole in the top, when its ok for the female,is better because the sand will be excavated out of the box less easily.
With N.l.levis, 90% of my females use this box to lay, with N.amyae there's no problem as there's no other humid place in their terrarium.
