Underwoodisaurus milii-problem

I have a problem with my U.milii. I bought her over two months ago in czech republic and she's gaining weight verry slow, from that time she gained only 2 grams, her weight now is 6 grams. Is it normal that she's growing so slow?
She looks good, she isn't thin. She's eating 2-3 small roaches (N.cinerea) a day.

Hi, Fatum, it sounds not too bad, and I think it was a juvenile about 2 or 3 months old when you bought it as it's only 4 grams. A thick tailed gecko normay can get to 6 grams within 3 months if being kept well, and there is also some difference among different hatchings. as you said, eating 2-3 roaches per day shows that it's in good condition and eats quite well, give her some time and she should be a strong and healthy gecko soon.

Cheers

Thanks. I'm compering her to my N.levis female which can gain 2-4 grams in 7 days, that's why i thought something's wrong with this U.milii.

May be you measured it when it was "empty", and re-measured it after it was full filled of roaches, that's may be the reason why it grew so fast!

Thats quite possible, I know one of my Levis girls can lay monster droppings... if she was ready to toilet and had just eaten, that would probably make at least 2 grams difference!

I think your Milii will be fine, she's eating well and gaining weight (albeit slowly) she'll get there eventually.

Milii is ok by now, but that female levis died today :(. I wrote about her health problem here http://www.geckosunlimited.com/community/pests-diseases/28520-n-levis-health-problem.html
Everything was very fast i saw first symptom 3-4 days ago, she was loosing weight, and today she passed away :(. I feel horrible it was my first nephrurus, i had to save money for half a year to buy her and a male n. levis which a still have. I gave her to a vet and we'll see what was the reason of her death after dissection.
