Please advise-Transporting gecko in winter!

I am hopefully going to be bringing home our first gecko (or 2) from the show on Sunday. We live a little less than 2 hours away from the show. Today it was 20-something degrees. Obviously, the car ride home may not be too bad considering that we'll have the heat blasting but it takes a little while for it to warm up and I think there will be a walk to the car. I do not want to stress the little guys any more by having them exposed to the cold.

Here is my plan, but please let me know if there is a better plan out there. I will take a small cooler and a couple of those hand-warmers that you shake up to activate. Will wrap the handwarmer in a dish towel to prevent it from being too hot on the skin.

That should be fine. You'll want to make sure not to over heat them as too much heat is just as stressful as not enough.
