Okay, so some lady was just messing around with different reptiles and had three on the local CRAIGSLISTING and I took her up on it because I really wanted the Cham.... here's what I ended up with...
1- Ahkan - anole - green healthy and eating nicely. Has a great personality and lives happily in the trees and with the other reptiles -
1 - Kyle - Veiled Chameleon - HARDY EATER! OMG that bugger will eat 10 crickets right from our hands... and moody, omg... just look in his terrarium and he gets all pissy and huffs up, turns black and tan . crotchety... to say the least, but shows no aggression towards the other lizards
1 - Samantha - what we think is a white lined, or Skunk Gecko... now this one stumps us... she is dark army green with some kind of white band by her ears into a v behind her on her back and a very faint white line down to her ribbed tail....she is very friendly, beautiful eyes.. we've never witnessed her eating but we've had her 6 weeks and she's not dead.. so we kinda figure she's either eating the left over fall away crickets (meaning the ones Kyle the Cham somehow manages to let get away) or maybe the mealworms... she has done atleast one full shed so we just assume she's eating something...I am putting babyfood/honey down for her tonight - hopefully she'll take to that
Anyway, the reason we are writing is this....
We are not sure she's a skunk.. she does not behave completely like one... she stayed in the very bottom of our custom built terrarium until last night... we put a warm mist hummidifier in the terrarium...This has raised the top half of the terrarium to about 90 degrees and 100% humidity.... now she's up on the top side where the warm mist is, she's out in the day time and she seems so happy... just kinda moving around freely...
Now, let me say this.. we would never have put these three lizards together... but they were together when we got them and none of them have shown any signs of aggression towards each other.. infact Ahkan the anole has even shared his skin with Kyle the Chameleon... (kinda long funny story, but the gest is that Ahkan was shedding and enjoying his skin.. Kyle thought he would try it out, snapped out his tongue and took off the whole side of Ahkans shed.... weird, but funny, ofcourse Ahkan was none too happy to have Kyles tongue snapping at him so he moved to a lower branch)...but at night when it's bedtime, Ahkan crawls right under Kyle and they snuggle in for bed...
Anyway.. any help with telling if Samantha (the gecko) is a skunk or some other cool breed would be greatly appreciated....
This is my first post with pics, so please let me know if they dont show...
Thanks!
