feeding frenzy

Today when I got home I went to check on my cresties and saw one of my females (we'll call her #1) nip at the tail tip of another female (#2). It didnt look aggressive -- more like she maybe thought it was a cricket?? So I dropped in about 1 dozen or so crickets and within a few minutes #2 almost nipped #1's tail!! There was a cricket right next to her tail, and they are sloppy hunters so I *think* it was an accident...but I don't want them to accidently bite a tail and then drop it! Has anyone had this problem??

I know it sounds like they are starving, but they eat ALOT as it is. They just get so excited to hunt. I feed them baby food mixed with CGD every other night and feed crickets on days between the babyfood/CGD feedings.

I have never seen any other signs of aggression between them before tonight.

Should I just hand feed the crickets (with long wooden tongs)? Or feed them crickets in a separate tank?

I have had females be aggresive towards one another before. In my experiences, it usually consists of one chasing the other around and biting them on the tail and legs. If you see them doing this again, you may want to watch them for a while and make sure it is not aggression. If it is, you should separate them. You may want to separate them now just in case, I would. You can always try to re-pair them later on and watch closely to see their interactions.
