ok before you think i dont feed him well i will tell you what i feed my gecko..well try...ive tried crickets but ive never seen him eat one...baby food...trex day gecko formula...but he doesnt seem to be very plump i mean in some positions you can see a little of his rib cage...so my question to you is...what is an ideal thing to give him to plump him up a bit??...recently i have been using a feeding syringe to hand feed him baby food any ideas?? thank you..

I am guessing that you mean I juvenile or hatchling? If so you can't really tell right away that they are growing. The best way to tell if they are eating is to count the number of crickets that you throw in there and count again a little bit later, and look for poop. If they are pooping then they are eating.

Put some friut flavored baby food in there. Leave it be for awhile then come back and check it to see if there is any holes in it where it has been licking the baby food.

Baugh is right on with both of those that is what I do to make sure all of my guys are eating I count their food and look for poop

When you put the crickets in there put them in a deli cup. That way you get the right count on how many they eat. If your viv has anywhere for them to hide you may miss count them.

the best thing I can tell you is change the substrate or pull the substrate out and freeze it over night to kill off the eggs and crickets.

baugh i have good news i had a think and due to having live plants i decided to instead of freezing to put some honey in a shallow dish and then they get stuck woohoo lol no more blooody baby crickets!!

The reason I said to freeze it, is cause if you freeze it it will kill the eggs and babies.

oh ok true...well the honey thing seems to be the easiest when i have a gf that would go mental if she found my substrate in with the pizzas lol

I under stand you on that one. I was told thats a good way to do it. I have not had any problems with that yet. The thing about the honey is if theres still eggs in there they will still hatch and you will have to do it over and over.

try putting a deli cup in there with moist substrate with the crickets. Thats how I bred mine. I still ended up with alot more than I need. I guess its better more than enough than not enough.
