Rhacodactylus ciliatus Feeding Behavior

Hello All,

I wanted to share a cool behavior that my crestie displays during feeding. Gertie is somewhat of a shy gecko but not when it comes to feeding time! Sometimes I hold a cricket between my my thumb and index finger and open the hinged screen lid of her tank. When she notices the cricket she comes prowling to the top of the tank, leaps onto my hand and snatches the cricket. Chomping away in extacy.

That's cute. I never hand feed crickets to Koji, but he does have a lot of interesting feeding behavior lol.

He loves to hunt, and he's really good at it, but he likes it so much that he attacks anything that moves! lol

When I feed him CGD on a spoon, he attacks the shadow of the spoon!
When I spray his terrarium, he attacks droplets of water!
If he sees his reflection in the glass, he attacks that as well!

He's silly. Once I put my hand in to get him, and he didn't notice, when he saw my hand move closer to him, he attacked it and bit my finger haha. He wasn't trying to be mean or aggressive, he just hunts anything with movement!

Our little one doesn't really do anything to cool with her eating. SHe pounces a lot on her crickets, like divebombing them...that's about it.

Mine do a lot of hunting and a few of my gecko eat out of my hand like yours do. Be careful when doing this w/ gargoyles though, they hurt when they get a hold of your finger by mistake.
