Hatchling Day Gecko

I have been waiting patiently for my 2 clutches of Phelsuma V-nigra cormoraegrandensis to hatch, and it's right around 45 days now so tonight I was feeding all of my animals and I put some crickets in my Mossy Leaftail tank and looked and there was a tiny day gecko hatchling hanging out on the outside of her tank, this was a complete suprise to me because I had no Idea that there were other eggs much less a tiny gecko I took a couple of pics they are bad but the little one looks pretty stressed

Congrats on the hatchling. Is there only the one hatchling? How many more eggs do you have incubating?

It's is a little harder to see the eggs in the V-nigra than most of the other Phelsuma species.

I only found one hatchling, I have 4 eggs incubating and I looked through both tanks that they are in and I didn't find any other eggs or remains of eggs which was pretty weird to me I have no Idea how old this guy is but it's less than an inch long

tonight I was doing a little searching and found my hatchlings egg and found out that I might have another little one running around but I also found 4 more eggs so now I have 8 eggs and I am pretty sure they are all viable

Tito,
That is awesome! It sounds like you have a very active breeding pair. Where did you end up finding the clutches?

in the only place I didn't look which was 2 smaller sticks of bamboo that I did not think they would be able to get inside of I was pretty surprised to find so many eggs, I actually have a breeding trio

so it's coming up on 60 days now and none have hatched they all look good, so anyone here who has bred any Phelsuma v-nigra sp. what was the average time for these eggs to incubate should I be worried or is this a normal amount of time ?

I had my first hatch out today at 58 days. I will keep you posted on how long it takes the rest to hatch out.

Hello. I've had 6 clutches hatch out of phelsuma V-nigra cormoraegrandensis this year and they have all hatched in 54 to 55 days. I incubated them at about 80-86 F. These have become one of my favorite day geckos.

yes these are my favorite Phelsuma that I am working with. I don't know what happened though I have incubated them insitu with temps ranging for 80-90 f, I am really beginning to doubt that the other clutch that was laid around the same time is even going to hatch
