Hello,
I am posting 2 pics of mushrooms that began growing from the moss in my fimbriatus vivarium. They seem to be Rickenella fibula. I am excited because it adds to the atmosphere of the setup. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

A true sign that your MicroEviroment is balancing out. Unless your harvesting the Mushrooms and eatting them, there's no harm in them growing in a tank.

Update...New and Different Mushrooms Growing!

These Mushrooms are growing from under the substrate. They are quite large and they wither soon after they emerge.

If they bother you, you could just toss in a culture of springtails. I think they add to the natural feeling.

I have mushrooms in various tanks, here are some examples:

This one is in a tank housing Lygodactylus luteopicturatus:

and these are popping up in the enclosure for my Phrynus barbadensis:

...I attribute such things to my critter room being relatively humid but with good ventilation/air circulation.

I have seen probably a dozen various mushroom species in my enclosures and none seem to be a problem of any sort...just sort of "there" as temporary organic decor...

:)

Mushrooms add a very naturalistic feeling to the enclosure! very cool, just make sure you don't have any psilocybe cubensis growing in your enclosure! lol
