Hi all!

1) Can I house a 1.3 group in a 60 cm long, 30cm wide, 30 cm high terrarium?

2) This species is terrestrial, right? Can they climb glass?

3) When they lose their tail, doe it grow back?

4) Are they nocturnal? Are they active or shy?

Thanks!!

I will answer like this:

1) Yes, you can. I have kept 1.2 in 30x30x20
2) Nope, they cannot climb glass. However they seems to like to climb - mountainbackground in the viv maybe? Looks awsome, and they like it.
3) Yes, they we regenerate the tail. It is in that their fat is.
4) They are nocturnal - but I saw mine a lot when I had them. I saw mine at feeding time and when I dimmed down the light :)

The size is perfect for the group.
They are terrestrial but THEY CAN CLIMB ANY SURFACE. Mine are everytime on the frontal glass of the vivarium.
They lose and regenerate the tale. In my experience the regenerated tale is quite similar to the original, a lot more than in Leopard gecko for example.
Nocturnal but not so shy, mine dont like so much hide place.

My biggest fear was that they'd be too shy and reclusive.

So, as owners of Vipers, do I have your recomendation on this species?

Another couple of q's:

1) Are they an hardy species?

2) Curiosity. Are Vipers the best prepared Gecko for the heat??

Thanks once more!

In my opinion subadults and adults are really strong, easy geckos with few needings. Baby instead are a little bit hardy.

Teratolepis love heat, I've a hot spot from 32 to 35, but I preffer to give them a rest time in winter, just at the house temperature.

Very prolific and fun gecko. Here the photos of my first hatchling of the year:

Only if you want many many babies. I swear they breed like mice. Keep a close eye on the females health, as they will sacrifice their bodies to reproduce.

Man! Those pics are great!!

I have spare room in the attic, which is around low 90's in the summer, so I needed a heat-lover species!

And they seem amazing and if they're interactive... wow!

I want them to reproduce too... I'm planning on selling a few babies to cover for initial costs. Of course, I'll try to rest the females for a few weeks after laying their eggs!

Any other input?

But do remember that this species doesn't have lamellae.
So they won't be walking on the ceiling of the viv. or upside down the glass.
I've heared it before that vipers climbed the glass, but don't be disappointed if you don't see them do it.
Technically they aren't able to.

You are wrong, believe to me. I can make a video of a Viper climb true 90° glass when you want :) If you watch at his kind of articulation in the fingers you can see clearly that's is the same system of the well-padded geckos like Rhacos and not like every other not-padded geckos like Leo.

They don't have a large amount of setae, ok, but here you can see some photo of how this is possible :D

Howdy!

I found this plastic container in my attic. I has 60x30x30 (24"x12"x12")

I was thinking that with the proper decorations and a screen lid adapted to the top I could make an enclosure out of this! What do you experts say? Pros and cons?

Thanks!

I'd like to see that! :)
Not that I doubt you, just being curious.

I was thinking, since I've heared people say that they've never seen their T. fasciata climb the glass.
Could it be that there are different localities. One that has setae and one that hasn't?
