Pictus genetics

Hi guys,

anyone of you have any idea about pictus genetics? I just hatched out a striped pictus baby from normal x striped parents and unless the normal parent is het for the stripe I figured it has to be a dominant trait.

Do any of you know anything about the genetics behind the various forms of patterning/colour? Dominants? Recessives?

It´s sometimes frustrating to be a curious George :blushing:

I'm working on it.

I'm a molecular biologist in texas that just happens to have some new pictus hatchlings. I would really like to know that is up with then also. My initial thought is that its just the same as for leopards, but i could be wrong. I will do some research on it and get back to you.
