Update =)

Well I haven't posted on here for some time, but I've been "browsing" threads. I thought I'd give a little update :)

My geckos are all doing GREAT. I bought a breeding trio awhile back. Two trempers and what I believe is a normal - she was too skinny so was separated but the slurry recipe helped that really quick. The female tremper laid a clutch about 2 months ago, one failed within the first week, and the second just hatched (55 days at 83 degrees). Well surprise surprise...the hatchling is NOT by the male tremper lol. So either the father is a giant blizzard, or a patternless male from the guy I bought this trio from (I no longer have contact, he moved after I bought the geckos).

The little girl is doing well, although very tiny. She will not eat live food yet, so I've been supplementing her with the slurry to keep her going. She's shed once so far, and there is a little more yellow showing through on her back white area. I hope once she's grown a little that she'll start being more interested in live food, but until then she will keep getting spoiled :D She definitely doesn't mind the slurry, and actually crawls into my hand now, expecting it.

Here are some pictures...of mom and baby.

They are definitely all doing much better. Here's the before and after pictures of the skinny female I picked up. The pictures do not do her color justice...she's a very rusty orange. As you can see...the slurry supplement I was giving her really did wonders in 2 weeks time. Now she's even healthier, and has been placed back in with the pair she came with. She was also the most skittish gecko I've ever owned, literally a speed demon in everything she did. But now, I can stick my hand in the cage in front of her, and she willingly will crawl right into it :)

After 2 weeks on the slurry supplement:

And then now...I think she was over-bred and malnutritioned. He didn't put a calcium dish in with her before, so I started that, and she's flourished.

Haha hi Jess! I try, I really do. I haven't perfected the "gecko keeping" but I hope to get better and better as I learn tricks here and there. As you know, my first egg hatched, so that's been fun. I hope it only gets better and better :D

I'm sure it will :D Hey, so how many eggs do you have?

We are getting the ingredients to the slurry recipe tomorrow, as we now have a gecko that could really use the help! It's nice to know that it only takes about two weeks to get them well started :biggrin:
