Oedura and strophurus feeding

Will any oedura, diplodactylus, strophurus, or underwoodarius milli eat worms? I'm not aloud to get a gecko that eats crickets or roaches only, but I am aloud to feed any type of worm. I can get phoenix worms, mealworms, and silkworms easily, but if there are different kinds I can try and get them. There are going to be Underwoodarius milli at the next show and was wondering if they ate like leopard geckos?

So it would be fine to have them on a main diet of worms, and feed them crickets every other week. Also what worms do you recomend.

I've never had much luck getting any of my Oedura to regularly accept any kind of worm as a food source. I'm positive that Underwoodisaurus could be maintained exclusively on a worm diet.

My Diplos love small wax worms and my Strophurus will eat any worm that I put in the cage, the only problem is finding ones small enough. I doubt that you'll be able to find a steady source of worms small enough for anything but adults of these 2 genus.

So will extra small phoenix worms work (5mm/ 3/16inch) work or would the smalls (8mm/ 5/16inch) work better for the strophurus. I can get those easily online. And would they eat from a bowl.

Will the Strophurus eat mini mealworms, or will the underwoodarius milli eat mealworms. Which is most likely to eat worms from the beginning?

probably the milii, since they would be more likely to encounter worms in the wild. also the fact that a hatchling milii is about the size of a subadult strophurus.........

I pretty sure there will be a couple milii at the next reptile show in two weeks, so I will try and pick some up since they seem easier to keep. Milii seem like a good first australian gecko. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

you might want to go to Danny Brown's homepage (Danny Brown's Home Page) where you can find a really article about the pro and cons of feeding meal worms! That might help you to make a decision. By the way, my oeduras love woodies!

my O.monilis readily eats mealies. it was kind of a gross process getting him to switch. I ripped them in 1/2 and let him lick the guts at first. he loves them now

PS
i realize its an older thread but wanted to reply anyway lol

diplo's will eat worms in my experience (galeatus have no problem eating meal or wax worms occasionally, and strophurus will eat them too, but like other said strict feeding of these worms is not a good idea). Have you ever thought about getting into fish as you would avoid this problem?

I have a reef tank. I can have like 200 crickets every two weeks, I have some right now. I just can't always get them everyday, I tried ordering bulk crickets, but they stunk and grew to big for the geckos.

and by any chance did anyone feed Strophs on waxworms? I give my juvies both imago and larvae of A. grisea and they seem to trive, but I do wonder if this could be a main food item in their diet? I have a constant supply and I cannot buy other feeders everyday (I also give crickets, roaches mini-mealworms)
