WC Fimbriatus are hard to acclimate many times even when they have no visible trauma. Leg, foot, toe problems can be a very detrimental injury to an aboreal gecko.....especially to such a sensitive species as fimbriatus. Bacterial problems, infections, etc. are very taxing on Uroplatus. If it was me I would positively pass on the animal. There will be more to come. The wait will be well worth it. My opinion.

Regards

Why not make an agreement with the seller to hold the animal for 2-3 weeks to make sure there is not a serious injury. I know I would do that for a customer of mine.

i agree...either have the seller hold on a bit longer to see what comes of it, or negotiate something with the seller for an extended health warranty.

as a word of encouragement, i had a WC female henkeli suddenly appear with a toe completely missing one night. i was worried about healing, but she did just fine. i never did figure out how the toe disappeared, whether it was a bite from another gecko or just some random accident where it got stuck on something.

it would be interesting to find out what is causing the swelling. just because the gecko is CB doesnt mean something more serious isn't going on.
