Cricket supplements

I'm not sure what I should feed my crickets or what I should be dusting them with. I've read a few caresheets and I couldn't find two that suggest using the same product. I went to some manafacturer website and that didn't help either since there were many different cricket foods/dusts to choose from. Can someone point me in the right direction?

For my crickets i feed them carrots and Flukers cricket diet, for supplements i use rep-cal Herptivite and rep-cal Calcium with Vit.D3 all my lizards and frogs food get dusted with these. i have had no problems and all my animals seem to flourish with these supplements.

Ok. I looked those products up online. From what I read it is my understanding that these would put Beta Carotene, phosphorous-free calcium carbonate, and vitamin D3 into their diet. Correct?

If this is true, then would it be overkill to feed the crickets a diet such as Flukers Orange Cube which has Vitamins E, B-12, A, D3, and calcium carbonate?

I don't think it would be too much but from what i have seen tho the crickets eat allot more of the flukers cricket diet than the cubes. Thy just don't like them as much. I buy my crickets in bulk and have tried many things for gut loading and watering the best things i have come up with is the cricket diet and a very shallow dish of water. I tried the "gel water" from flukers its a waste of money to me.
If you dust your crickets with herp-vit every time you feed you really don't have to gut load your crickets its more to sustain them when kept in large quantities, but don't get me wrong it will help to feed the food with vitamins as well. I also feed my crickets carrots witch are a good sorce of vitamin A and E, Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Chlorine, Sulphur.

hi,

repashy gut load works to feed the crickets with before you feed to the geckos. Then immediately before feeding, dust the crickets with the calcium supplements.

As far as your little one that is sick... you may want to put a small amount of calcium supplement in a very small dish, such as a pop cap lid in the enclosure to help with his problem

you can also purchase some medicated diets to help them through and rough spots, lots of information on this site

Quick and Easy insect gutload -

1 box Gerber rice baby cereal
1 box powdered milk
1 jar wheat germ
1 small package Hikari Algae Wafers (fish food, the green disks)
1 small package unsalted sunflower seeds in the shell
1 small tin unsalted peanuts
1/4 of a cuttlebone (not used for roaches)

Grind/blend until powdered. Use greens and carrot slices for water. This can also be used for the insects full time diet if desired.
