Looking for a Fat Tail

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I'm looking for a fat tail. I seem to be having little to no luck in finding a juvenile that is captive bred. I've wanted one of these little guys for as long as I can remember, I even have a tank and home for it, but now I can't seem to find a lizard to put in it. It's rather frustrating.

Does anyone have any ideas about where I can buy one? I've been browsing kingsnake, and googling my brains out, but all I can seem to find are adults or wild caught juveniles.

Thanks!

Just bad timing. Alot of the fat tails that are captive bred lay there eggs around spring because of cooling. Most of the baby fat tails sell real fast. I know a site that has some i actually bought a few from him, hes great. luxuriousleopards.com

Thank you! There is one on that site that I am interested in. Hopefully she's available still and I can get her!

Ugh, she was sold. If anyone else hear of or sees one of these for sale, please let me know. I have this empty cage and no lizard. :(

Those are all less than a year old.

Hm, they seem bigger than the other juveniles I was looking at. I know pretty much nothing about geckos, tho. I saw a lot of them much smaller and lighter than those...how big do they get? I just want to make sure that I get a little one so I can see him/her grow up, you know what I mean?

Hey, are you the same Ira that I wanted the little tiny girl gecko from that I just missed? Wasn't that one smaller than these?

Or am I just crazy....maybe I'm passing up geckos because I have no idea what to look for?

Ut oh. Help!

Yes I am. If they were born this year they are still fairly young and not an adult size. Garrick has great animals, send him an email and see what size they actually are if you're curious.

Oh yes, I already emailed him, thanks for the tip! How big do fat tails get? I know they can grow to 8-10 inches, but I mean like how many grams?

I think they get to be about 55-60 grams on the big side, though there are claims of 90 gram Fat Tails.
I actually got my two from Petco and lucked out enough to get a female striped and male plain. After fecals and vet checks, I am cooling them now, we'll see what happens this spring!
