I'm new to the forum. I have a female Phelsuma madagascariensis grandis that is bright green and has the red canthal bar markings like the male, but lacks any semblance of spotting. You could say she is patternless.
All of the neonates she has produced have had red spotting in the lumbar area of their back (even after they have lost their juvenile barring). I plan to breed one of her male children back to her and see if this pattern character is a homozygous recessive trait.
Is this pattern phase common?
