Aft care

Hello everyone! I might want to get a aft and had some questions. First is are they a good first gecko and are they easy to care for? Are they a hardy gecko? I heard they need a little more humidity than leos, can you obtain proper humidity by having a humid hide or spraying? And if you use the humid hide would you put it on the hot or cool side? Also how often would you spray the hide? Can you use a undertank heater or a 40-60 watt heat bulb? Can you use paper towels as a substrate? Also how often and how many crickets do you feed? And which brands of vitamin and calcium supplements and in what proportions? Also what size crickets? What temperatures do you need on the hot and cool side? How do you get the calcium and vitamin supplements on the crickets? If I go for one it would be my first gecko. I might have more questions later but for now I think I have ran out.:) Its either this or a crested but I would rather get this.

there are infinite care sheets for aft's already out there. find one, then read it. i answered a bunch of your questions, but i got bored, because these questions have been answered a million times already.

1) yes they are a good first gecko
2) yes they are easy to care for
3) yes they are a hardy gecko
4) spraying or humid hide will both work
5) where you put humid hide depends on temps in the cage. my house has a large fluctuation in temperature so in winter i put mine on hot side, in summer i put mine on cool side.
6)if you spray, then spray the hide every day
7)use undertank heater primarily, use additional overhead heating if you cant get the temp high enough. you will probably only need to use undertank heating. do not cook your gecko.
8 ) yes paper towels work great
9) feed whatever size cricket is appropriate to your gecko. use common sense. an adult gecko will eat adult crickets no problem.
10) feed him/her as much as he/she will eat.
11) use calcium with vitamin D, supplement every other feeding.
