Egg laying question

I took a step forward and bred a pair of leo's for the first time. Oh how nervous I am about this whole thing. I am so afraid one of the tails will fall off :yikes: so after the breeding process I took the male out. I did this for 3 days in a row. Breeding date was on the 1st, female was ovulating, she was receptive and he had a blast. My question is: Now she is pulling out all the stuffings in her hides. I know this is wayyyy to early. She is a first time breeder. Is this something she should be doing now? Do I keep putting the substrate back in her hides? Is she preparing her laying spot, or perhaps practicing? Any help will calm my nervous.

That is exactly what she is doing, making preparations. Since this is her first time, a lot of them do odd things lol. Eggs can come as early as 2 weeks. It also depends on if she was already developing eggs when the breeding took place, or if she had just started ovulating. You'll know when she's about to lay...they get restless, dig much more, most go off food a day or two in advance.

Oh boy I think I better get the icubator ready. She looked like she might have had eggs in her before breeding but I wasn't sure, I thought it was her ovaries that were showing through. Oh Geesh I better get home and get things ready. I am so excited and so scared at the same time. Thanks, any other help would be great. Funny, I have read I bet 6 books on all of this and all of a sudden my brain has gone blank.

Just try and be calm :) I know it's hard, but you're on the right track! My first eggs came as a COMPLETE surprise to me. I had bought a female and wasn't told she was gravid. She produced two eggs about 2 weeks after I brought her home...talk about a surprise! I was able to save one of them, and she was my first hatchling.

Just go home, and start playing around with the incubator to get it to maintain the correct steady temperature. That is the most important thing.

Ok got home, set up incubator, got deli cup ready. Incubator is at a steady 85f, what should the humidity be?
I was wondering why she doesnt want me to touch her, usually shes a love. Tonight I did get a peek at her underside...yep two nice beautiful eggs. Now comes the hard part....waiting. Thank you for the help, I am sure you will be hearing from me again shortly with some kind of worry.
Oh boy I am soooooooooo excited:yahoo:

what are u using in the the deli cups? if ur using hatchrite u dont have to worry about the humidity, the people who make hatcrite already have the right amount of water added, all u have to do is put it in the deli cups and turn the incubator on. if ur using vermiculite or perlite, heres a link that can help u,
