Hello
I am a recent member of this forum and thought I would introduce myself with a couple of pictures of my crested geckos.
2008 was the third year I got eggs of my cresteds but the first year I managed to hatch any. Previous years the babies never managed to exit the eggs but died fully formed. You can Imagine my frustratiion when I Opened the 40th egg with a perfect young gecko in it. This year I changed my incubation media from perlite to diatomite clay, Allen Repashy calls it "Superhatch" but here in Sweden you can buy it in the supermarket as cat litter for the equivalent of 2 dollars for a 8 liter bag. I still had a couple of young that didn't hatch but so far 5 eggs have developed into healthy babies, and I have 2 more eggs waiting to hatch.
So now to the pictures:
Mother (Jailbait):
Father (Charlie, who is yellow and don't surf):
Baby #1 and #2 born on 25 of august after 70 days in the eggs.
Baby #3 born on 17 of october after 74 days in the egg.
Baby #4 and #5 born on 1 and 2 of january 2009 after something like 80 days in the eggs.
The longer and longer incubation times are due to decreasing temperatures as winter nears.
