Preparing Live Plants for Use in a Viv

Tonight I bought a type of Pothos from a meijer. Bought the same plant a few weeks ago and didnt see this. Tonight though I go to bring it home and when I get home and start preparing the the plant I see little green balls in the soil. Never seen these before and I figured it was a type of fertilizer. I pull the plant from the pot as a usaully do and rinse off the root ball and get as much as the soil off the roots as I can before I put the root ball in a glass filled with water to clean the roots off and "flush the plant" so to speak for 2-3 days before putting it in my viv for my uroplatus. I usaully clean the plant and the roots a few more times before adding to the viv but my question is will it be ok to use this plant since I clean the plant well or should I get another plant. The plant I got a few weeks ago seems ok and I got it from the same place and it didnt have any little green balls that I could see in soil in the pot. Thanks.

What I would recommend with ANY plant, not just ones with visible ferts or other issues -

Remove from pot and wash away as much dirt as possible from the rootball.

Soak in a 3% bleach solution for 2 minutes.

Rinse well with cold tap water.

Trim the end 1/3 of all roots, and any fertilizers or perlite from the rootball.

Plant, drench the surrounding soil and shade with a small piece of screen if under bright lights for a few days.

After all that is said, for a Pothos sp. I'd pull it, cut the roots in half, clean it and rinse it as above. Plant it and be done. Pothos are amazingly hardy plants, that's why we all like to use them and recommend them to others :)
