I am curious...now I read on CARIBHERP this gecko is on Puerto Rican Bank, not sure what that means...but does that mean it's from Puerto Rico? I read up on its said to be located on St. Croix. I'm sure not many of you will know that answer, just a few I can think of who might know...just curious.

Thanks!

The PR bank is the group of islands that have a common geologic history with Puerto Rico (at least at more recent geologic time scales). Many of these islands were probably contiguous land in the past.

Knew you would be the first to answer ;-)

So, does the mean that S. beattyi can be found in Puerto Rico? St. Croix looks like it's about 80 miles east of Puerto Rico.

S. beattyi is not found in PR. There are a few different "races" spread out over a few islands in that area. You can find S.b.seamani in St. Croix though...fetch!
