she climbs around on top of her hides sometimes and will just sit there out in the open for no reason. She only eats two crickets a day but if i only feed her every other day will she eat more?

Hello jcopella. I'm definitely no expert, and i've only had my leo for a few weeks, but from everything ive seen and read so far, she looks quite healthy to me. I don't know how old she is, but mine is 2 years old and only eats 1 to 4 crickets or mealworms every other day. He actually really surprised me tonight by eating 6 mealworms.

my post just dissaperd. i'll tryk again.

She look good :) no probs with he.

Maybe, you should take a look on its viv / tank.

Leopards, like hideouts thats tight, where they feel secure.
the viv, insent the biggest one, and maybe she just wan to walk around, and if that mens climping some caves, no problem :)

All tho leos are ground living (dont know the english therm), they still like to climpe. mine uses there background every day.

this is my viv for 0.2 Leos, its 128Ls (High:80 cm x 40 cm x40 cm dont know how much that is in Galon?

as you can see i use corkbark ? spells :p as hideouts, and they are coverd with som plactic plants. they seem to like them (they use them ^^ ) and if then dont wan to be disturbed by each ohter, they have 3 hideouts to go to.

Looks healthy to me! :D

Beautiful gecko btw!! :)

Mine is about a year old and has odd eating habits as well.
I worry about her, But her tail stays nice and fat and she has normal poops so i assume nothings wrong. Maybe They jus have small tummies!
Usually she eats maybe 3 meal worms every other day, sometimes she only eats 2-3 meal worms a week!! And then sometimes she eats up to 8-10 in a day!!

I wouldnt be worried at all. Her tail is nice and fat, and she doesnt have loose skin or bones showing. Older leo's dont have the voracious appetite the younger ones have. Our Leo's like to set out and explore too, except when they decide they should freeze into a statue!

As long as it keeps eating normally, and its tail stays fat, I wouldn't worry. My adults eat one adult male B. Dubia Roach every other day. I doubt you would want to get into roachs, because of the name roach, but once you get a "culture" going, you almost never have to pay for food again. Plus just one will feed a gecko. And you can pick the size you need appropriately, depending on your geckos size.

nice tail, lookin good.
and try spacing out the feeding more, into larger numbers but every second day or something like that. And if its on top of the hide it could just be basking don't worry about it.

There's not much that hasn't been said already.

I'd just like to add...you might want to change the material in the moist hide to sphagnum moss or something of the sort...it stays moist for much longer than the paper towels do.
