bad eggs

Well I have had this female R. auriculatus (gargoyle) for 2 years now 3 in July and she has laid some unfertilized eggs in the past. However for some reason she is on a marathon and been laying them every month for the last four months I found the latest one tonight. Is this odd behavior? I have never had ciliatus' do this nor have I had any other gecko do this. usually its one or 2 lays (when there is no male present) and it stops. She is on MRP and still seems to be healthy not acting strange fecal matter is normal eating fine. Has anyone seen similar behavior? It may help to mention too she has never been introduced to a male and lives alone (like they prefer it... little hermits he he he). Just thought it might make an interesting topic.

Thanks,

David-

mine is doing the same thing. Im worried about it stunting her growth. it seems her eating has slowed a bit as a result. she also isn't accepting crickets (which she usually attacks instantly). i offer powdered live crickets once a month & CGD every 2 days. my leachie in the next cage over hasnt slowed his eating at all, so i assume this isnt environment related.

This is fairly normal for cresteds and gargoyles, especialy coming off a year where she didn't produce that many.
Keep feeding the CGD/MRP. I like to add additional crickets to their diets. While I will feed 3-4 per crested per week, I will feed 5-6 per gargoyle...and dusted with calcium for the females. I just think they need that extra protein. Good luck with the eggs.
