look at the following genera:
Gonatodes, Coleodactylus, Pseudogonatodes, Lepidoblepharis, Phyllodactylus, Phyllopezus, Homonota and a couple of Hemidactylus. The rare genera of Briba and Bogertia live in S.A. but are essentially unobtainable. You will find the type locality for most species (where they were first found) that might help refine your search.
If you are looking for a great arboreal species, look into Thecadactylus rapicauda. There seems to be more of them circulating around Europe than there are in the U.S. They are a widespread species of Central and South America. I'm not sure how easily obtained they are or how much they cost, but it's something else to look into if you are interested.
