Incubation question

Hi all oedura keepers,

after successful incubation I had my first hatchies about six weeks ago (yes, I should have long ago posted photos - here's one). :D I had another coupld of eggs incubating (laid 15/1), which seemed to be doing ok until one got mouldy about three weeks ago. It was immediately removed, the other egg looked ok. However, it should have hatched by now... It still looks ok, nice and big and white - for how much longer should I leave it until I can safely assume it won't hatch?

Thanks,
Bluemchen

Hi Bluemchen,

In these case, I´m guided for the smell... if the egg don´t smell bad, it will be healthy...

I wouldn´t discard egg until i have clear evidence, "smell evidence"... in my years of breeding reptiles, i have had some cases of babys hatching out eggs that looks rotten and mouldy!

In any case, I would incubate this egg in a insulated container to avoid contaminating the other eggs.

I have some eggs of castelnaui amelanistik, it´s an amazing gecko...

Congrats for your new babies!

Regards! José R.
