Hey guys and girls. Has anyone had any success in breeding and hatching Uro. Fimbriatus? I could be mistaken but I've not come across any info pertaining to this here in this forum or anywhere else. And for that matter it would be cool just to see some hatchling pics. It seems like fimbriatus is one of the hardest commonly kept uros to get information on.

P.S. Lets get some baby pics or I'll have to make the BABY!

Oh wow, don't I feel stupid there is fim hatchling pics right at the top of the photo page. Clearly a Junior Member mistake. Any how I would still love some info on breeding protocol for these unique geckos. Most the reptiles I've kept in the past just kinda do their own thing. But their seems to be stigma around the uroplatus genre which leads me to belive its not that simple.

What up man-

I just got a pair and am looking for info as well. This guy Bjorn @ pitbullgeckos.com breeds them, but he didn't give me much advice other than to ditch my substrate and waterfall and get the book @ amazon 'keeping and breeding leaf-tailed geckos'....

Hey man, thanks for the response. I didn't realize there was a book, definitely gonna get it. Its always best to figure out these things for yourself anyway. I just thought as much talk as you hear on this forum about keepers wanting more cb populations people would be more helpful in this area. Oh well, good luck on your project man let us know if you have any success.

Hi,

Breeding fimbriatus is similar to breeding henkeli and lineatus. They are big geckos, so they need a good bit of food. My current pairs are in their second and third seasons. Last year produced 20 hatchlings, not huge numbers, but still rewarding. I found hatching improved when I lowered incubation temperatures to 72-74 F during the day and dropped to 66-70 F at night. Extra calcium my be provided to females.
