Phelsuma stuck?

I was watching my new pair of lineatas today and the smaller one got scared, so it decided to run into one of the small tubes of bamboo that i have as a branch(almost vertical). It seemed like a tight squeeze and i haven't seen him come out yet. Could he possibly be stuck in there headfirst because of how steep the bamboo is? Should i try to tip him out of it or should i just wait and see? I could be being paranoid, but i just got them and i don't want to do anything stupid.

I personally would wait a day even a few days and see if he comes out on his own, just make sure he is not in a place where he will over heat. It will be far less stressful if you give him some time to make his way back out. I have had a few of mine squeeze in some really tight spots and sometimes for a few days. Trying to get them out from a small piece of bamboo is next to impossible! They have such awesome grip you might have to just spit it open which is very risky and a absolute last resort....Just wait if you can stand it :) Best of luck

Great advice Preston.

DC - Even if you can't stand it, just wait to see if it will come out on its own. Trying to remove it could cause so much havoc. Tail loss, toe loss, broken limbs, death come to mind as possible outcomes if you try to remove it from the bamboo. Just conitnue to provide regular care and humidity. Try offering a small portion of something really sweet and aromatic like honey in a small bottle cap or some repashy 2 part mrp mix.

Also, if this bamboo piece seems way too small and you want to put your mind at ease once it does come out you could stuff some paper towels or newspaper and plug up the ends.
Do you have plenty of hides for the pair? Any pics?

Regards,

-Adrian

Just as an update, i did see him running about today. Apparently he can move in and out of it without getting stuck, but i will be removing that piece regardless. ;-)

One of my latiacauda's seems a wee bit overfond of one of his bamboo pieces, to see him I practically need to creep up to the tank in a ninja outfit! As soon as he sees anything he jumps down his little home faster then anything. Sometimes I will go days without getting a good look at him!

Wow.... that is exactly how my little lineata is. They are WC so they are pretty skittish and the little one is halfway down the tube if i ever even see him at all. I do see him sometimes just sitting at the top of the rock wall in my Exoterra. I think they seem safe squeezed between the rock and the screen top.
