Rosie Passed on...RIP

Rosie passed away for reason unknown Saturday afternoon. She had not been sick, did not show any symptoms or warning signs other than for the first time ever, she took a couple days to shed (her legs did not shed immediately as they usually do) She was housed on tile with papertowel for her potty area. She was companion to Blondie (who is fine so far) Her belly was normal, her weight was the same in death as it had been the week before and she was active until the day she died.

I have sterilized everything in the tank and thrown out the food (superworms and crickets) and am feeding babyfood to Blondie until there is a fresh shipment of worms and crickets tomorrow. Blondie seems to be doing ok, altho' she did spend time on Saturday night seeming to look for Rosie (they always curled up together since the day they came home together).

Is there anything I should do for Blondie or watch for? When would it be appropriate (or is it) to get a companion for her?

and am feeding babyfood

im sorry to hear the loss :(

- i do have some comments on the above quote.

im not critising or anything just posting information.

too much sugar natural or synthetic can lead to diabeties in leo's.

i realize they are an omnivore but in the wild they rarely eat fruits etc.

symptoms are similar to that of people: drinking lots of water.

leo's arent really fickle to whoms in the tank with them other then males
but they do better in solitary enviroments.

adding another animal is recomened only after that new animal has been issolated to check for possible infectsion etc.

after that any time your comfortable adding them.

Thank you for your response

The babyfood is sugar free, the blueberry puree is a treat that she doesn't get on a regular basis and she loves it but when I give it to her, she only gets the taste that she gets from 3 licks from my fingertip.

I do know about isolating a newcomer and was thinking about placing the tanks side by side so they could see each other. I don't plan on breeding so was thinking about another female. Or was thinking about moving Blondie to the smaller tank more suitable to a single leo and then getting a beardie.
